ABOUT M4K NASHVILLE
M4K MISSION...
M4KNSH goals are simple. Raise money for youth charities in the Nashville area, and have fun while doing it. We strive to give back to this community, create opportunities where there is a void, and invest in our youth to ensure they feel connected to the future.
WHERE IT ALL STARTED...
The year was 2020… a year we all wish could have been fast-forwarded. Amidst the chaos and an abundance of sourdough starters, a few good-hearted folks decided to channel their energy into something positive right here in Nashville. M4K Chapters across the country have teamed up with dozens of local children’s charities over the years and have raised over $16,000,000.
During the rollercoaster that was 2020, with more plot twists than a soap opera, our chapters raised over $1,800,000 for children—virtually. An achievement only superheroes could pull off! This caught the eye of Mike Simmons, who wanted to join in the fun, only to find there wasn’t a local chapter. So, like any good protagonist, he took matters into his own hands and started the Nashville chapter in 2021.
In just three years, M4K Nashville has raised nearly $85,000, benefiting High Hopes Development Center, Barefoot Republic, and Williamson County CASA. And we’re just getting started! Who knew growing a mustache could do so much good?
Mustaches 4 Kids America
M4K America is comprised of 11 chapters in cities across North America of dudes who grow mustaches for 30 days to raise money for local children’s charities.
Sounds awesome right? Since 1999 we have raised over $16,000,000 for local children’s charities and, more importantly, looked damn good doing it.
WHAT WE DO...
Mustaches for Kids Nashville is the local chapter of Mustaches for Kids America, a volunteer-run non-profit organization started in Los Angeles in 1999 to do good and have fun by growing Mustaches for children’s charities. The concept is pretty simple, you get pledges/donations to grow a mustache for one month and all that money is donated to local children’s charities selected by the individual chapters.
At the end of the growing season, we have Stache Bash, a mustache-themed costume party during which we crown the winner of the coveted “Sweetest Stache” and hand out other awards that are cherished by the recipients. So it’s all pretty simple: mustache, charity, and competition infused with meaningless pageantry. You can spare four weeks of your life for that.
In the words of Mark Twain, “I’ve never met a man with a mustache that was not good, honest, decent, awesome, good-looking, humble, sexy, wise, and a fantastic dancer” (from “The Book of Stuff Mark Twain Never Said”).
